Welcome to the 2nd piece of our FIVE part series on:
IPA’s you should be doing every day and HOW to do them
Welcome to the 2nd of our FIVE part series on “IPA’S you should be doing every day and HOW to do them.” Have you ever heard someone say “show me your calendar and ill show you, your priorities?” Sometimes as business owners (and that’s what you are) we can feel like we are spending all this time building our business but in reality if we looked at our daily calendar would it really show that? What gets measured, gets managed, in this post we want to talk all about measuring your business through your… FOLLOW UP
Following Up
If prospecting is like your main course, following up is all the sides & condiments. You do not have a meal without sides & condiments, the same thing goes with your business, you do not have a business without a follow-up. Stats say that the average prospect needs SIXTEEN touches before they become a client. Just think about that for a second… How many times have you talked to someone about your business, followed up once, maybe twice and then just gave up? Friends SIXTEEN times! So how do you implement this into your daily IPA’s? Scroll on down baby 👇🏻
Plan It
The first thing you need to do is get a system! If you need to follow-up 16 times on average keeping track of that is next to impossible, or it will consume all of your time. So what should you do? Find a system that works for you! Find a system for tracking. Whether that is a paper planner or a digital calendar like Trello. Find something that works for you and use it daily to keep track of your Follow up process. You work hard to prospect, so don’t let those efforts go to waste by dropping the ball when it comes to following up. Plus this will allow you to measure what is working and what isn’t working.
So once you have your system what should you do?
Ad Value
Just like with prospecting our business model has to be one of adding value. With your EOL tools this makes it so easy! Texting someone a shareable graphic letting them know an awesome DIY you have for it, sending a blog post you just created, following up with them about a class you’re doing by sharing a teaser of the class with them, or sharing your monthly promos and how to use them. The ideas on this are endless, and you truly have access to SO much so you can follow up with great value.
Your Website
Another great way to add value is by utilizing your website. Your site is more than just a place you send people to its a powerful follow-up tool. Not only can you send prospects the link to sign up for your email list but you can send URL’s to specific products and pages on your site. Why is this awesome? Imagine this: You are at a baby shower and a momma there is talking about how her kids have had a non-stop cough for months, you sort of connect with her but there is a lot going on and it’s not really the time or place. before you leave you muster up enough courage to say “hey I heard you talking about your kids cough which I can imagine is very frustrating for you, I actually had the same problem with my kiddos and I would love to share with you what worked for us, can I just grab your number and I’ll text you when I get home? So once you get home you find a blog post on your site, or the thieves product page and you text her the URL with a simple little message about it. Now all she has to do is click the link and she automatically is looking at the solution to her problem. Now in a couple of days, you can follow up with a shareable graphic about your special vapor rub recipe, or diffuser blend, or set up a time for a zoom call with her or 1 on 1 meeting.
Another great way to use your site is by sending URL’s under the Topic section of your site. That is an amazing resource to provide value and follow up when you don’t always know what to say.
So the best rule of thumb is always to add value!
Next up is:
Email Marketing
If you are not utilizing your EOL CRM I hope this inspires you to take a couple of hours and dive deep with. If you are asking yourself what on earth is an EOL CRM, let me just explain that. As a Garden or Estate member, you have access to an email marketing tool or CRM. This tool allows you to send out premade auto series emails or allows you to make your own. This is incredibly powerful and very beneficial when it comes to following up. Email marketing is the # 1 way most any business markets to their people so if you have a business then you need to be using it. To get all the how to’s when it comes to implementing this you can check that out here.
Sending out at least TWO emails a month is what I would recommend. To keep up with email content ideas check out this post, you can also just follow the calendar and create emails that focus on the season, holidays coming up, or certain promos and how to use them.
I hope you feel inspired and equipped to become a master follow upper (is that a word 🤷🏻♀️) You’re business will only benefit from a robust follow-up, and growth will become inevitable with a determination to lead with value.
Content Creation.
Have a Fabulous day friends!
